James Sloane

James Sloane MBBS, BDS, FRCS (OMFS)

Director, Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

James is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon dual qualified in both medicine and dentistry.
Graduating from Nottingham Medical School in 2003, he was awarded the Charnwood research prize for his intercalated BMedSci degree, for which he received first class honours. He undertook his postgraduate surgical training in Bristol where, having been inspired to specialise in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he also completed his BDS dental degree.

His specialist Oral and Maxillofacial training was in the South East of England including rotations at renowned units such as Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead and the Royal Surrey Hospital, Guildford. On completion of his specialist training in 2017, James undertook a further highly regarded international fellowship focused on orthognathic (corrective jaw surgery), reconstruction of traumatic facial injury and dental implant surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia.

James is a consultant at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford where he is Clinical Lead for the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has a private practice at the Guildford Nuffield Hosptial.

James is a director of Surrey Implant Services and is an experienced implant surgeon, skilled in a wide range of implant placement and grafting techniques.
